    The Role:

    As a Principal Engineer – Cloud Platform , you will be part of the Cloud Platform Engineering team and drive the solution/engineering practices. You will play a key role in leading the engineering forum within cloud portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the design and architecture of cloud-based solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, security, and performance requirements.
    • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform, or Azure Resource Manager to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
    • Deploy and configure cloud services and platforms, such as Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), based on best practices and architectural principles.
    • Implement security controls, identity, and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance standards to ensure the security and integrity of cloud environments.
    • Optimise cloud infrastructure and services for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, utilising monitoring, logging, and analytics tools to identify and address performance bottlenecks.
    • Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) strategies to ensure high availability and data protection in multi-cloud environments.
    • Provide expertise in IT operations areas, such as networking, virtualization, identity, security, and governance, ensuring these areas align with the overall Azure Platform strategy.
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers, encouraging best practices in Azure administration, development, and DevOps processes.
    • Build a strong performing team, set clear expectations and goals based on OKRs and KPls. Manage execution, stay within budget, and proactively solve issues.
    • Explore industry best practices and influence application of the most relevant and effective solutions in the activities performed day to day.
    • Improve the Reliability of system in production and fixe issues by digging into code, identify the issue and contribute a fix back to the code base.
    • Be an Escalation point for severity incident.
    • Contribute to the tool chain and shared stack managed by orchestras and fellowships and more generally take an active role in these engineering communities.

    Your Profile:

    Technical key skills/knowledge/experiences:

    Cloud Platforms Mastery:

    • Proficiency in one or more cloud platforms Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
    • In-depth understanding of cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security.
    • Ability to architect scalable and resilient cloud solutions using native cloud services and best practices.

    Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

    • Expertise in infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, and Azure Resource Manager.
    • Experience designing and implementing IaC templates for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
    • Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

    Containerization and Orchestration:

    • Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
    • Experience deploying and managing containerized applications in production environments.
    • Knowledge of container networking, storage, and security best practices.
    • Experience in implementing Kubernetes management fleet such as Anthos or Tanzu or Arc.

    Platform Engineering Principles:

    • Proficiency in designing and building scalable, reliable, and secure platform components.
    • Experience with platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings and building developer-friendly platforms.
    • Knowledge of microservices architecture, service mesh, and API management principles.

    DevOps and CI/CD:

    • Deep understanding of DevOps practices and principles, including continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD).
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines automation using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
    • Ability to implement infrastructure testing, deployment automation, and monitoring solutions.

    Security and Compliance:

    • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity, and access management (IAM), encryption, and data protection.
    • Experience implementing security controls, compliance standards, and security monitoring in cloud environments.
    • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-CIS.

    Distributed Systems and Networking:

    • Understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, and eventual consistency.
    • Knowledge of networking concepts, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, and firewall configurations.
    • Experience with cloud-native networking solutions such as VNet peering, VPN, and SD-WAN.

    Scripting and Programming:

    • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and tooling.
    • Experience with software development using languages like Java, Go, or Python.
    • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and contribute to infrastructure-as-code repositories.
