    Description

    Our huge warehouse estate in Yorkshire is held together by the Warehouse team, the warehouses have an enormous amount of tech that allow us to receive, store, pick and pack items for our customers - handling everything from socks to sofas The Warehouse team focuses heavily on automation which includes 40 miles of conveyor linking everything together across our sites, hundreds of storage and picking robots - a very fast moving, continuously changing part of NEXT Technology.

    The role
    Technology drives what we do. Plain and simple. As we're going through a huge change as a business, we need a solid team with us who are committed to driving our systems forward.

    As an Applications Architect, you'll be an important part of this. Your focus will be to drive collaborative Standards across the whole of Next Technology, ensuring synergy across the technology design, approach and platforms. And you'll do it through different technologies and strategies:

    • Able to speak, read and write English at a level that enables you to complete your role, for example, to understand instructions and communicate effectively with stakeholders and/or other team members
    • Experienced in effectively working in a collaborative manner in a large scale, fast paced environment within a multifunctional technical team
    • Design history with on-prem and Azure approach to deliveries
    • Modern presentation approaches including C4, with use of EA tooling
    • Security standards within the development industry
    • Event Driven architectures
    • Micro Service approach to problems

    You'll assist in the creation of High Level Solution Design, work with Delivery Managers, Stakeholders and Development Teams to build the right solution to a defined Business requirement whilst evolving and establishing Patterns, Best Practices and Standards to be used across Next Technology

    You'll be doing all this from our automated warehouse estate in Pontefract.
