- Achievement of commercial targets – delivery of agreed sales targets across UK on-trade and off-trade customers.
- Opening new accounts – Establishing new on-trade and off-trade listings by visiting and engaging bars and specialist spirit retailers across the UK.
- Building relationships - working with existing UK on-trade and off-trade partners regularly to build and retain relationships.
- Events – attending and exhibiting at a range of events across the UK throughout the year and supporting international events as required.
- Tastings – delivering consumer brand portfolio tastings within partner venues across the UK and online.
- Sampling – supporting off-trade accounts by sampling the distillery's products within retail stores.
- Hosting – delivery of brand experiences at the distillery for trade and consumers.
- Training – delivering training sessions and converting on and off-trade staff into brand advocates.
- Trade promotions – working with UK wholesalers and trade publications to build an annual promotional calendar.
- Asset management – maintaining an online library of assets and promoting the active use of archive across third-party social and digital media.
- Reporting – Present a monthly activity report and forward planning in line with core KPIs.
- Contributing to the wider marketing and sales team proactively and as required throughout the year.
- Experience of, and knowledge within the spirits industry desired, especially Scotch whisky.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and sustain excellent business relationships internally and externally.
- Strong analytical and strategic acumen.
- Flexible, adaptable, and calm when working under pressure.
- Ability to organise workload and prioritise where necessary.
- Comfortable working independently for periods and working as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to travel across the UK and internationally.
- Flexible to work evenings and weekends as and when the role requires.

The distillery is now an established maker of fine spirits, producing an award-winning range of single malt scotch whisky, blended malt scotch whisky, vodka, gin, and rum. Customers around the world enjoy the distillery's premium brands every day which are made with authenticity, transparency, and passion.
Independently owned and industrious to its core, The Glasgow Distillery is one of the most exciting and contemporary spirits producers in Scotland and was named Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year in 2020.
Role Purpose
The purpose of the Business Development Executive is to drive new product listings and increase the rate of sale of Glasgow Distillery brands within the UK on-trade and off-trade.
This is achieved by building positive relationships, increasing awareness of the distillery's product portfolio, and conducting product tastings and training with a focus on established whisky bars, cocktail bars, specialist spirit retailers and trade & consumer events.
The Business Development Executive works alongside the Marketing Executive to achieve the new listing and brand activation goals, reporting directly to the Global Marketing Manager.
