Are you looking to expand your children's nursing portfolio of skills and expertise to deliver children's community nursing or are you a children's nurse with experience looking for a new challenge and feel that nursing in community settings is for you? This exciting and funded opportunity is offered by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) and will enable suitably qualified nurses to undertake either a MSc in Primary and Community Care (Community Children's Nursing) Specialist Practice Award.
The service provides children's community nursing for children and young people with long term conditions, complex needs, and palliative care, including end of life care.
The children can present with acute illness in addition to requiring skilled nursing intervention to manage highly complex health and developmental needs throughout childhood and at transition to adult services.

Starting in September 2024 you will commence a fixed term contract with SCFT and undertake a one year full-time at the University of Surrey.
All educational components of the programme are based at the University of Surrey (Guildford), with your clinical placement based within one of the CCN teams within Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
Successful completion of the course will lead to a NMC Specialist Practice Award, independent nurse prescriber qualification (V300) and a MSc in Primary and Community Care (Community Childrens Nursing)Need to have access to car/car driver

Experience of caring for a diverse range of health needs in children
Evidence of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
Registered Nurse (Child)
At least 2 years minimum of children's nursing
