    Description

    Deputy Manager

    • Working Hours: hours per month. Depending on the home, you will be working a shift pattern and will be required to sleep in.
    • Hourly rate: £13-£13.50 P/H
    • Sleep in's: Paid at £50 per night.

    Job Description for Deputy Manager

    • To support managing all aspects of the Home's operation to deliver high quality care to young people in accordance with organisational standards and in compliance with all regulatory and statutory bodies.
    • To support the homes manager within the home and to complete supervisions with Residential Care Practitioners and Senior Care Practitioners.
    • To lead and support Senior Care Practitioners and have full oversight.
    • To have full oversight of each key working team and support each keyworker.
    • To support the homes manager within management tasks such as updating workforce development plan, home development plan, SOP, children's guide, homes training matrix etc.
    • To lead Team meetings and training and development sessions.
    • To become a champion in a subject within the home.
    • To support the home with management tasks when the Registered Manager is on leave.
    • To support homes manager on new young people moving in and out of the home.
    • Lead the team and delegate tasks out to staff members.
    • Support homes manager to update all management tasks at the end of each month.
    • Complete audits on the homes and young people's paperwork.
    • Support in attending professional meetings.
    • To support your team members and be able to train and develop other staff members.
    • To supervise your staff team and complete debriefs and supervisions within your team.
    • To ensure that all Company policies and procedures and all legal requirements are adhered to.
    • To build trusting and close relationships with Young People.
    • To provide a supportive and nurturing delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
    • To lead by example and maintain good professional practices in accordance with the minimum standards for children's homes and children's home regulations 2015.
    • To be held accountable for the safety and wellbeing of our young people.
    • To help create a supportive and positive environment for each young person with particular reference to his or her safety, health and education.
    • To act as a surrogate parent with professional boundaries
    • Ensure that care plans are person Centre and meet the needs of the young people. Also ensuring that they are up to date so that all young people's Care and social needs are met.
    • Ensure that complaints, safeguarding alerts, incidents, and accidents are dealt with in a professional manner following company policies and procedures and where necessary local authority procedures.
    • To build a strong positive relationship with the Ofsted inspector to the home and to be able to confidently lead ofsted inspections to the home.
    • Ensure that appropriate report to statutory and regulated bodies are undertaken in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that the home meets regulatory and statutory requirements including fire, health, and safety, COSHH RIDDOR,
    • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all relevant professions i.e., Social Services, Ofsted and other external regulatory bodies.
    • To ensure that care staff are appropriately inducted before being able to take responsibility for Young People and to provide on the job training as required.
    • To ensure that all documentation and care and support delivered is compliant with relevant legislation and inspection bodies.
    • Ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made.
    • To form effective positive relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies.
    • To meet the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximize opportunities for their development.
    • To ensure that young people's views and wishes are always listened to and acted upon where appropriate.
    • To maintain good professional practice in the home in accordance with National Standards.
    • To create a caring and positive environment for each young person with regard to their safety, health and education.
    • To ensure that good quality records are maintained as required.
    • To ensure high quality supervision of young people, ensuring their individual safety and well-being is closely monitored.
    • To implement, review and update Placement Plans and risk assessments and monitoring progression.
    • To identify problems and service deficiencies by the continuous review of young people's needs and make recommendations for improvement.
    • To ensure that equality and diversity is followed and encouraged.
    • To maintain and promote residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by Ofsted.
    • To contribute to the educational and social development of each young person and assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programs.
    • To adhere to Childrens home regulations 2015.
