    About the Cloud Infrastructure team

    The Cloud Infrastructure team is crucial to the success of our company. We focus on scalable Platform Engineering practices, prioritizing performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems while considering operational costs.

    • Leading and managing a high-performing Cloud Infrastructure team
    • Establishing and evolving team and technology processes for strategic delivery
    • Applying our engineering principles through a Platform Engineering lens
    • Promoting and improving Platform Engineering practices across teams
    • Enhancing our core hosting platform, observability, and tooling

    As part of our engineering teams, you will support their operations and help them succeed, rather than running their services for them.

    What you'll be working on:

    • Taking loveholidays Platform Engineering to the next level
    • Empowering engineers with the right tools, processes, and training for self-service needs
    • Evolving Google Cloud Platform, GKE, and observability for scalability, reliability, and performance
    • Ensuring infrastructure security through DevSecOps practices
    • Advancing and maturing FinOps practices
    • Enhancing the performance testing capabilities of our systems

    Our runtime architecture is based on services hosted on Google Cloud Platform, managed using Infrastructure As Code with Terraform, Atlantis, and Kubernetes. We prioritize observability, employing a monitoring and alerting stack centered around Mimir (Prometheus), Grafana, Loki, and Tempo. Our service mesh, Linkerd, provides uniform observability of all production services. Performance and scalability are key considerations in our software and infrastructure development process, and we encourage the use of the right tools for the job (Java, Go, Rust, Python, JavaScript, etc.).

    What we're looking for:

    • Experienced and motivated engineer who collaborates well across teams, shares knowledge, and leads by example
    • Deep understanding of technologies like Kubernetes
    • Proven experience in building scalable and high-performance systems with cutting-edge technologies and processes
    • Focus on solving for end users first, with technology as a means to an end
    • Curiosity for the latest trends in platform engineering and a desire for personal growth
    • Ownership of systems end to end, from specification to production monitoring
