Search / Civil Engineering Level 4 ApprenticeAn apprenticeship is a paid job where you will learn and gain valuable on the job experience, whilst also completing classroom-based learning with a college, university or training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
The apprenticeship will typically be undertaken over 60 – 66 months, and during this time you will be provided with real life experience working on a variety of projects and upon completion will have fully satisfied the requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer by the relevant professional engineering institution.
Mott MacDonald is offering a great opportunity for a Civil Engineering Apprentice to join our growing team.The Foundations and Geotechnics department is filled with individuals with a diverse range of skills including; civil, structural and geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, hydrogeologists, numerical modellers, project managers, instrumentation and monitoring specialists and more.
Our portfolio is wide ranging and covers both local and international projects including well-known projects such as London Heath Terminal T5, Crossrail, Northern Line Extension and Doha Metro - to name just a fewYou'd be one of the team from day one, gaining varied experience and learning by supporting our engineers deliver a range of projects from concept and feasibility designs through to detailed design.
Desk studies and site appraisals to identify potential ground risks during early project stages;Involvement in the ground investigation process including tendering, field conditions, test scheduling, interpretation and reporting;
Design and analysis of foundations, earthworks, retaining walls and underground structures;
Third-party ground movement assessments and instrumentation and monitoring proposals; Preparation of engineering reports, calculations, specifications, BIM models and CAD drawings.
An apprentice will be supporting in learning the skills requiring to be successful in this role and would not be expected to pick up all the above from day 1.
Travelling within the working day may be required occasionally, which will be on top of any travel required as part of your apprenticeship studies.
Please note you will need to have achieved A Levels grade CCC or above/equivalent including subjects related to Maths, Science or Engineering.
