    Job Description

    The Commercial Manager role at AECOM involves overseeing end-to-end service delivery for large and intricate infrastructure projects, serving both private and public sector clients. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that client objectives are achieved through the provision of high-quality commercial management services. In this role, you will interact with clients and contractors, requiring attention to detail and the ability to provide commercial insights that influence significant business decisions.


    The scope of the role includes managing all aspects of commercial operations throughout the project lifecycle, from initial stages to completion. Our Commercial Management Team is spread across the UK, offering opportunities in regional offices such as London, Bristol, Birmingham, Cambridge, and Edinburgh. You will be involved in delivering Commercial Management Services across various sectors, necessitating flexibility in adapting to different client needs, remote work, and frequent travel.


    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Budget development and alignment with control teams
    • Process improvement for cost controls
    • Engagement with project staff
    • Stakeholder management
    • Presentation of recommendations to clients
    • Mentoring junior staff

    Your knowledge, experience and skills need to include:
    • Experience in delivering excellent service to clients
    • Strong communication skills
    • Expertise in cost and commercial activities
    • Autonomy and adaptability in fast-paced environments
    • Interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders
    • Ability to maintain professional standards and drive technical excellence
    • Business development and client relationship management

    Qualifications
    • Good knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
    • Experience in commercial management within collaborative teams
    • Exposure to project controls and commercial delivery
    • Experience working in client organizations

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Degree in relevant discipline
    • Professional memberships (preferred)
    • Desirable security clearance
