    About the Company

    Green Cat Renewables (GCR) is a dynamic and innovative company offering a complete range of technical services for renewable energy projects. Our team of over 80 Engineers and Environmental Consultants work from offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Livingston, and Biggar. GCR collaborates closely with Green Cat Hydrogen in the UK and Green Cat Renewables Canada in Calgary.

    With a growing portfolio of projects in onshore wind, solar, battery storage, hydrogen, and electricity infrastructure across the UK, we are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Environmental Consultants to join our team in Edinburgh or Glasgow. Successful candidates will support in managing and delivering various renewable energy projects, provide mentorship to junior staff, and contribute to expanding our business in the UK.

    The Role

    • Manage the delivery of renewable energy projects from feasibility studies to planning application submission.
    • Assist in business development activities, engage with existing clients, and expand professional network.
    • Provide technical expertise in environmental specialisms.
    • Prepare and oversee technical reports required for project Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
    • Lead consultations with local authorities, communities, and other stakeholders.
    • Prepare tender documents and fee proposals.

    The Candidate

    • Essential:
    • Degree in an Environmental or Engineering field.
    • 6+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector.
    • In-depth knowledge of the UK planning system and EIA processes.
    • Strong understanding of environmental and technical aspects of renewable energy project development.
    • Proven project management skills with ability to work within budget and deadlines.
    • Strong EIA technical competency, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Valid UK Driving Licence.
    • Desirable:
    • Business Development experience.
    • Chartered Membership of a recognized professional institution (e.g. IEMA).
