    Purpose

    • Drive Plant Lean activities in line with the BVI production System philosophy
    • As a proactive member of the Site Leadership Team you will develop and execute the Plant value improvements Roadmap in collaboration with Plant Management. You will work with all departments to support the implementation of CI projects and Lean activities.
    • Ownership for Continuous Improvement activities and reporting/monitoring of project/initiative deployment. Proactively challenging the current thinking and processes. Champion for improvements in productivity through strategic thinking in the drive to be World Class.
    • Oversee and execute the Process engineering efforts across the plant including hands-on personnel management.
    • To lead and/or participate in local and global project teams, as well as oversee the site portfolio and its execution in line with business targets. Responsible for all engineering related activities from generating ideas to implementation and maintaining, including costing and budget controls
    • Management of engineering contractors for all equipment, machines and / or processes in line with HSE and company policies.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead and Coach a team of Process Engineers
    • Continuous development of the improvement strategy and pipeline of the plant
    • Coordinate and lead the site project portfolio
    • Participation in the global site portfolio management updates to the senior leadership team
    • Participation and contribution to the Global Network and implementation of knowledge exchange, best practice sharing, and lessons learned.
    • Establish, implement and maintain an Operational Excellence Program to drive continuous improvement
    • Knowns all current applicable regulations, guidance and standards that effect our business and ensures that we comply with them
    • Establish the necessary processes to deliver the best possible manufacturing process;
    • Provide expert input to strategic decision making; incl. prioritization, and external communications;
    • Provide expert input to product research, development and engineering;
    • Establish, optimize, review and implement relevant (QMS) documentation
    • Develop and manage Operational Excellence metrics to evaluate the performance and drive continuous improvement
    • Investigate and follow up on internal and external product and process complaints
    • Act as a Lean Manufacturing ambassador, promote and apply Lean Principles and Tools
    • Manage, coach, guide, develop, train and motivate your team
    • Responsible for identification of training needs and maintenance of training curriculum for the function
    • Supervise and manage external partners, as required
    • Establish priorities and allocate resources and workloads
    • Evaluates and recommends staffing requirements to ensure maximum utilization of personnel to fulfill departments objectives, Interview applicants for job openings, conduct performance reviews and provides guidance to subordinates, and reviews and participates in personnel development programs
    • Ensure quality standards within the team are met and that the deliverables meet strict deadlines
    • Establish Operational Excellence Policy, procedures, protocols and reports to ensure compliance
    • Collaborate effectively with other leaders within the BVI
    • Develop relevant relationships with colleagues and external partners
    • Establish, and operate within budget for Operational Excellence
    • Review and report overall Operational Excellence status to Senior management
    Qualification
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or equivalent education/experience within Engineering or Lean Six Sigma
    • 5+ years of related Operational Excellence experience in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry;
    • Knowledge of requirements of working in the medical device industry (FDA, ISO 13485, MDSAP, EU MDR) preferable but not essential
    • 3+ years supervisory experience
    • Personal experience helping a manufacturing business drive continuous improvement & business performance improvement outcomes
    • Direct experience leading multiple stakeholders through organisational change
    • Ability to implement a successful Continuous Improvement system and manage the results
