    Head Consultant Role - Upstream

    We are seeking a Head Consultant to work as part of the KBR Consulting International team . The s uccessful candidate will be key member of the team providing consulting services and contributing to business development activities across the upstream oil & gas sector , which includ es greenfield and brownfield projects , maximizing the performance of existing assets and energy transition of the upstream industry , i.e. electrification, emissions reduction, decarbonization , etc.

    KBR Consulting has offices in four main operating centres (Houston, Leatherhead, Abu Dhabi and Singapore). KBR Consulting International covers KBR's Consulting business globally outside of the Americas. T he Head Consultant for Upstream will report to the Director of KBR Consulting International based in Leatherhead, ( UK). The successful candidate will be based in Consulting International's main office in Leatherhead (UK) .

    The candidate will have the following primary responsibilit ies:

    • Oversight of t he delivery of studies in the oil & gas sector from pre-feasibility through to Pre-Feed , assuring technical quality with on-time and budget delivery.
    • Growing KBR Consulting's project portfolio and revenue in the oil & gas sector through defining strategic direction and undertaking business development activities, working with the Global Head of Oil & Gas for KBR Consulting.
    • Interfacing with other parts of the KBR organization to grow incremental revenue from existing projects.
    • Providing technical and commercial inputs and oversight into client proposals.
    • Developing Consulting capacity and capability in the oil & gas sector through recruitment, training of consulting team members and the development of in-house tool s and work methods; and
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert within candidate's area of oil & gas expertise .

    The candidate should have excellent organizational skills and be good at communicating and guiding others. The successful candidate may be required to work on projects, thereby necessitating excellent ability to multi-task, work without supervision, exercise good judgment and communicate with colleagues in the wider KBR organisation .

    Requirements & Qualifications

    The successful candidate is expected to have a relevant number of year s of industry experience with a specific technical and/or commercial focus in the oil & gas sector . They should be able to demonstrate depth of experience and knowledge in a number of the following services areas:

    • Feasibility and c o nfiguration studies.
    • Full Field Development (FFD) planning.
    • Greenfield projects.
    • B rownfield projects.
    • Onshore projects.
    • O ffshore projects for f loating & fixed assets.
    • Debottlenecking studies.
    • Process design ( including HP/HT fields, g as processing including dewpoint control, NGL fractionation, acid gas removal, gas sweetening and mercaptan removal , gas compression & export / injection , oil stabilisation, water treatment & inject ion systems and utility systems ).
    • Process operations and improvements.
    • Flow Assurance and subsea developments.
    • Development of cost estimates upto Class 3 level.
    • Project execution strategies.
    • Direct sales experience .

    The candidate should also:

    • Be a s enior professional with strong personal drive and credibility with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Be a high energy individual with a desire to make a difference and offer suggestions for improvement & recommendations.
    • Be able to undertake and support business development . May serve as a proposal manager on large pursuits, gaining executive approvals where required , through to final contractual negotiations.
    • Be able to project manage Consultancy projects . May execute some projects as project manager and so must be flexible and able to adapt to changing project-related priorities and deliver high quality, accurate work within required deadlines.
    • Manage successful execution and conclusion of oil & gas projects completed by KBR Consulting International.
    • Participat e in cross fertilisation of work between KBR departments and developing a One KBR approach to execute projects.
    • Develop and maintaining customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction at project level and resolving any issues.
    • Liaise with the Consulting International Director to ensure the projects are adequately resourced.
    • Review project obligations and ensuring management of change including variation orders.
    • Feedback and review of project managers to ensure they are adequately supported and developing their skills.
    • Development of project close out procedures including knowledge sharing, lessons learned and project case study preparation for marketing materials.
    • Manages risks to avoid delays or reputational damage.
    • Oversee project managers, to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget, to a high standard ;
    • Train, develop & mentor the next generation of the Consulting Oil & Gas team ;
    • Have existing client relationships in their respective areas of expertise.
    • B e able to travel for business trips on short notice :
    • Be fluent in spoken and written English . Additional languages are a plus.

    The candidate must be able to demonstrate competence in the following:

    • Able to work within a 'sell-do' model.
    • Strong self-starter and motivated to succeed.
    • Pr oviding pr actical front-end consulting – including scoping, selling and delivery.
    • Have e xcellent communication skills including ability to produce concise reports and presentations appropriate for all levels.
    • Have c onfidence to work at all levels of a client organisation (Board to Technician ).
    • The d esire to expand role and be adaptable to client's needs.
    • Able to c ontribute to preparation of proposals, execution plans and budgets.
    • Identify new opportunities and leads.
    • Support a continuous improvement culture and identifies gaps, develops work processes, tools and methodologies to drive productivity and growth .

    KBR Consulting, through the incorporation of KBR's wholly owned subsidiary Granherne, draws on a heritage of over thirty five years specialising in the front end phases of oil & gas field , refinery and petrochemical development projects from pre-feasibility, through feasibility and pre-FEED, up to and including preliminary FEED phases. In addition, we undertake small FEEDs as well as providing specialist consultancy to later through to phases of projects including debottlenecking studies, brownfield modifications, production optimisation, operations an decommissioning.

    Our experience covers all forms of oil & gas field developments including onshore and offshore production and gathering facilities for greenfield, brownfield , refinery rehabilitation projects and petrochemical facility developments . The front end nature of the work means that we are often involved in developments in areas and technologies new to the oil and gas industry

This includes our development of both blue and green hydrogen production to support our ammonia technology and other areas of hydrogen consumption in our technology portfolio .
