Job Purpose:
To actively participate in the operational delivery of high-quality play and care provision for children aged years before and after school.
To provide stimulating activities, engaging with children in a safe environment.
To build links and work in partnership with parents, carers and professionals to promote the well-being of the children.

What will you be doing?JOB PURPOSE:
To provide a safe, friendly and secure environment for children to enjoy before and after school as part of the school's wrap around care offer. Communicate with staff, parents and carers in a professional and welcoming manner.
Care for children:
To provide breakfast for children at the before school club and ensure they arrive in school at 8.45am.
To collect children after school and escort them round to the After School club.
To maintain registers of attendance and ensure children are collected by known adults and signed out.
To return registers to the School Office at the end of every day.
To direct all parents' communication to the School Office.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all children, providing emotional support where necessary.
Child development:
Help support the emotional, social, physical and educational development of all children taking account of the individual's needs.
Establish and maintain supportive relationships with individual children by building mutual trust and respect.
Day to Day organisation
To plan and implement a fun programme of activities and ensure all children are included.
To provide a focus for the implementation of sports activities for the children.
To maintain children's safety at all times.
To work together as a team to maintain the Club to an agreed standard of cleanliness and hygiene and to advise the Headteacher or Office Manager of any concerns regarding children, parents or safety of equipment.
Behaviour Management
Always promote positive behaviour management in line with school Behaviour policy.
Working Relationships
Maintain effective and professional working relationships with colleagues, parents and outside agencies.
Attend and actively participate in relevant staff training.
Take responsibility for own professional development.
Child Safety & Security
Remain vigilant at all times to ensure all children remain safe at school.
Deal with any accidents, first aid issues or child illness in line with school policy.
Follow advice and information relating to Keeping Children Safe in Education; Child Protection; the Prevent duty and take necessary action as appropriate.
Inform the Headteacher (DSL) or Deputy Head (DDSL) of any concerns related to Child Protection in line with School policy.
Confidentiality
Observe the school's policy on confidentiality.
Job Specification
Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, or other relevant qualification in nursery work or childcare (or willingness to work towards a qualification if not already held)
Experience of providing support and pastoral care for children
Excellent communication skills with adults and children
Good organisational skills
Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults
Excellent verbal communication skills
Active listening skills
The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
Enjoyment of working with children
A team player who can work in a busy environment
Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils
A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school
