    Summary

    Purpose:
    To provide the day-to-day translation of the Customer product vision and roadmap into technology delivery, (including, but not limited to, Data Insights)

    Landscape:

    Provide a holistic approach to the understanding of new technology initiatives relating to Customer-facing education technology products (aligned to AQA's Customer & Product strategy), whilst representing AQA business requirements and priorities, championing how they fit within development schedules.

    Work with other AQA Product Owners to define requirements for, plan, and prioritise functional development whilst considering and negotiating dependencies across all relevant AQA technology platforms and roadmaps.

    Working in an Agile framework, lead on prioritisation of change requests from internal stakeholders and users, and defects to prioritise their resolution in sprint cycles.

    Facilitate the relationship between AQA business groups and third-party development teams for customer-facing technology products and services.


    Activities:
    Provide excellent stakeholder management skills by informing and influencing.

    Lead and manage technology development environments, including reporting and resolution of technical and delivering issues, testing and governance structure support.

    Understand the implications of functional development decisions in terms of overall Minimum Viable Product and available development capacity.

    Provide expert knowledge of the current business processes in detail and at a strategic level, in order to help define future state business requirements, processes and procedures.

    Support the preparation of training scripts and training material, and deliver training sessions (within the programmes team, train the trainer and end user).

    Support the implementation and embedding of the technology developments and any improvements to business processes within all relevant business teams.

    Lead in the review of all proposals for improvements and simplifications and quality assurance to the functional design.

    Working in conjunction with the Customer Intelligence team conduct research and analysis into the feasibility of any such proposed improvements, including customer engagement.

    Ensure the requirements of the relevant business stakeholders are captured as part of the future state design where possible.

    Make recommendations on design issues where needed, and to facilitate decisions with the relevant business owner.

    Deliver regular updates to the relevant business owner and business teams on the design, that highlight where key decisions have been made, along with the reasons.

    Embed culture of continuous improvement through engagement of product champions and train the trainer activities including Sales, Product Specialists and the broader Customer Support team.


    To be successful in this role, you will need to know / have / how to:
    Technical fluency and understanding, including programming understanding
    Change Management principles
    Project management principles (eg PRINCE 2, Agile)
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation
    Proven organisational skills
    Team working with excellent interpersonal skills
    How to translate stakeholder (internal and external customer) needs into defined requirements for software developments
