Research Fellow in Dementia Research - London, United Kingdom - UCL
Description
About us
National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North Thames is offering a career development award for dementia research, as part of a National NIHR initiative to support promising early and mid-career researchers in dementia and to build up their number and skills across the NIHR family.
This is an exciting opportunity for the next generation of leaders in dementia research. The appointee will be supported and mentored to achieve their full research and leadership potential. They will have access to the programme of training and events offered by the ARC North Thames Academy and will participate in a national development programme that will support the NIHR dementia Fellows cohort.
The post is available until 31 March 2026 and will be based in the Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health. Applications for part-time positions are welcome (with appropriate adjustment to duration).
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a track record of high-quality academic research in the dementia field.
The successful candidate will be working on the study: Personalised care for people living with dementia (PI: Prof Kate Walters). We will build on our novel models of personalised care in community settings that optimise equitable access, including supporting navigation of e-health systems and remote consultations. We will focus on people living with dementia who are underserved (e.g., living alone without a carer), with low health/digital literacy and/or from ethnic minority groups.

Application Process:
About you
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field; an interest in and commitment to a career in dementia research; experience of applying qualitative and quantitative research methods to evaluate complex health interventions; experience of conducting research with people with dementia and their carers; and a good peer-reviewed publication record.
What we offer
As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits some of which can be found here:
Our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
The Institute also holds an Athena SWAN Bronze Award, in recognition of our commitment and demonstrable impact in advancing gender equality.
As London's Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation, and we want our community to represent the diversity of the world's talent. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong.
We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in UCL's workforce.
