    Lead Reliability Engineer

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Reliability Engineer to join our team.

As a Lead Reliability Engineer, you will be accountable for the creation, delivery and monitoring of our business's network performance improvement plans.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be accountable for:


    •Development of our reliability strategies to facilitate both annual and regulatory business planning incorporating stakeholder engagement.


    •Delivery of the network performance improvement plan


    •Production of reliability plan information and delivery of our reliability related regulatory returns


    •Production of annual and regulatory business planning documentation for reliability metrics


    •Production of routine network analysis and performance reports

    oBHE corporate reporting

    oPerformance analysis & reporting


    •Trade body and regulatory working group company representation


    •Input to work streams driven by Department of Energy Security and Net-Zero and/or Ofgem industry reviews.

    Key Competencies


    •Technical knowledge: Understanding of the industry standard reliability metrics for power networks


    •Outputs: Able to deliver quality outputs to required deadlines with strong verbal and written skills


    •Conflict Management: Manages conflict in a constructive and culturally appropriate way. Has the courage to assert own view and challenge appropriately


    •Data analysis: Techniques that include, statistical process control, reliability modelling and prediction, fault tree analysis


    •Common Vision: Understands and contributes to the business vision and strategy. Aligns work to broader organisational goals and shares the vision with others


    •Maximises Opportunities: Creates and pursues opportunities to enhance business results. Prepared to take calculated risks and conducts business with integrity

    Qualifications and Attributes

    Essential Qualifications and Experience

    ·Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

    ·Chartered engineer (or recognised route to chartered status)

    ·Comprehensive understanding of the components which impact industry recognised electricity network reliability metrics.

    ·Understanding of the electricity network assets and how they are managed through their lifecycle.

    ·Developing and managing information gathering and consultation processes

    Desirable Qualifications and Experience

    ·Previous experience data analytics within a regulatory setting.

    ·Previous leadership or team management experience.

    ·Understanding of utility regulation and the complexities of regulatory datasets

    ·Track record of supporting electricity network reliability policy and plans in a regulatory environment.

    ·Understanding of our legal obligations in managing the asset base and the regulatory framework in which we operate.

    ·Awareness of RCM and the wider implications for system reliability

    ·Previous management experience within a utility environment

    ·Use of enhanced analytical tools such as Power BI

    ·Network operations: Experience of design or operations on the LV/HV/EHV system(s)

    ·Previous leadership or team management experience.
