    Role Overview

    As a Healthcare Assistant you'll contribute to the delivery of care needs to the patients by assisting the team in providing a high standard of care and you'll provide support to the team.

    What you'll do:

  • Welcome and receive patients, visitors, and colleagues to the Unit.
  • Always ensure the needs and concerns of patients and their friends/relatives are given thorough attention and a friendly and efficient service is provided.
  • Assist patients to orientate to the ward.
  • Report to a qualified nurse, any changes in a patient's condition that may require.
  • Refer patients', relatives', and colleagues' queries to the Nursing Staff.
  • Accompany patients (including their friends and relatives) between Departments.
  • Assist in patient hygiene and elimination procedures.
  • Transport Clinical specimens / Prescription charts, as directed, to the relevant Departments.
  • Provide direct basic technical assistance to medical staff as and when required.
  • Assist with observation and collection of specimens.
  • Assist the receptionist and nursing staff with any other clerical duties when required.
  • What you'll bring:

  • NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent
  • Good communicator/interpersonal skills.
  • Good Verbal and written skills.
  • Previous experience within a hospital setting
  • ​Phlebotomy trained.
