    About the position:

    • We're currently expanding our Property Maintenance Team and have an exciting opportunity for a Repairs Manager to join our Repairs Team under the Property Maintenance Service.
    • In this crucial role, you will lead a team of skilled tradespeople to efficiently handle a diverse range of repairs catering to our tenants' needs.
    • Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing repairs within our housing stock, managing a budget exceeding £10M for Responsive Repairs.
    • We're looking for a proactive communicator who can collaborate effectively with various internal teams, external contractors, stakeholders, and our materials supplier, Jewson. Building and nurturing strong working relationships is key.
    • You'll have autonomy and are expected to take charge and ensure accountability within your team and service area.
    • This role requires a basic DBS check paid for by Gentoo.

    Qualifications we seek:

    • You should have prior experience as a people manager in Property Maintenance, aligning with Gentoo's values and behaviors.
    • A focus on customer satisfaction is essential, along with a commitment to a 'Right First Time' delivery approach. Demonstrable experience in managing multiple trades operatives, health & safety, customer satisfaction, quality, and cost-effectiveness is required.
    • Proficiency in repairs processes, construction, compliance standards, and knowledge of Construction, Design & Management Regulations are necessary.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are key to motivate and guide your team effectively. A positive attitude, dedication to exceptional customer service, and a drive for outstanding performance both personally and collaboratively are expected.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft tools and the ability to quickly grasp our internal repair management systems is advantageous.
    • A valid UK driving license and flexibility for travel are mandatory.
