    Job Description

    Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Transport Shift Manager to join our Transport team at our Leicester site.

    As Transport Shift Manager you will work collaboratively to ensure effective running of a busy transport operation, ensuring that Operational KPIs are met and that the operations are conducted strictly in accordance with legal requirements, whilst helping to formulate and deliver the short, medium and long-term resource plans for your area.

    As the successful candidate, you will contribute to the overall success of the site, and will report directly to the site Transport Manager.

    This is a full time, permanent position working:
    4 on 4 off night shift 6pm to 6am.
    Salary is up to £38,240

    Job responsibilities of Transport Shift Manager include:

  • Produce day to day business reports with the use of Microsoft Office programmes and internal systems.
  • Briefing the team with all relevant information from UK Transport conference calls
  • Liaise with the team in relation to WTD – creating & analysing reports, taking action where needed
  • Controlling the management of absence and holidays for the team
  • Ensuring that all training needs for the staff are met
  • Delivering improved organisation capability through the Appraisal and 1-1 process
  • Managing and supporting driver workforce whilst engaged on driving activities to ensure full legal compliance
  • Day to day management of driver workforce to include absence management, reviews, welfare and holidays
  • Promoting company Health & Safety and employment policies within the transport operation
  • Where necessary, attending network trailer calls to discuss stand trailer pool status across operational sites and compile and execute action points
  • Accident and incident investigations

    • Qualifications

    To apply for the role of Transport Shift Manager , you will possess the following skills, experiences and qualifications:

  • As the Shift Manager you will have transferable experience in a similar position and have a strong background within the transport industry.
  • You will have excellent working knowledge on Microsoft office packages and ideally have experience in using in house transport systems.
  • You will be motivated, forward thinking, innovative and a strong communicator. You will ideally hold a CPC qualification, however this is not essential.
  • You will have excellent working knowledge of WTD and EU driving hour regulations.
