    Description

Join us at the cutting edge of Amazon's sustainability initiatives to work on emerging sustainability data and reporting requirements and support Amazon's long term worldwide sustainability strategy.

At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people.

The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) team capitalizes on Amazon's scale, speed, and ability to invent and simplify to create a better and more resilient company.

We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and we drive solutions that enable our customers and our business to become more sustainable.

The Worldwide Sustainability ESG Reporting team is looking for a detail focused, results-oriented and collaborative individual to support Amazon's global ESG disclosure processes.

This individual will work cross functionally to understand our ESG programs and key metrics so that they can scale our regulatory ESG reporting infrastructure.

You will be responsible for delivering Amazon's regulatory ESG reports in a rapidly evolving global regulatory environment.

This will involve establishing external reporting processes, collecting key metrics from partner teams, drafting disclosures, and presenting the results to senior leadership on legal, accounting and finance teams.

Your experience in delivering reports under existing regulations will also help Amazon prepare for compliance with emerging regulations including the proposed SEC Rule on Climate-Related Disclosures, CSRD/ESRS, the EU Taxonomy and ISSB.

You will work cross functionally with worldwide sustainability, legal and finance to ensure disclosures are clear, transparent, and provide the right level of context to users of the information.

To do well in this role, you must be able to confidently handle complex projects and provide a point of view in situations of high ambiguity.

You must also show good judgment and continually improve Amazon's business model, and emerging ESG reporting requirement best practices.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Deliver existing regulatory reports in multiple jurisdictions around the world.
    • Design and implement enhanced governance mechanisms to ensure adequate oversight and control over ESG reporting.
    • Provide requirements to sustainability technology team to help automate mandatory ESG reporting processes.
    • Analyze ESG performance against key goals. Draft performance narratives in partnership with the finance and accounting teams.
    • Work with worldwide sustainability subject matter experts to understand our calculation methodology, and draft transparent disclosures for inclusion in our voluntary and regulatory ESG reporting. These disclosures will need to meet the requirements of external reviewers and will provide a transparent summary of Amazon's criteria and methodology used to calculate key metrics (i.e. Net zero, 100% Renewable Energy, GHG emissions, waste, water usage).
