O'Keefe Construction is wholly owned by the Byrne Group; which also includes Byrne Bros (Formwork) and Ellmer Construction, with additional robust support being provided by our Parent Company, WBHO.
You will focus on technical matters, quality control and temporary works whilst giving support and guidance to your engineering team.
Additionally, you will work with the Project and Construction Managers to ensure that the scope of work is delivered to the defined cost, time and quality and contractual requirements.
You will be a proactive, dynamic individual with an inquisitive problem-solving mindset. You will be a listener who is decisive in making fact-based decisions.The Role
The successful candidate will provide leadership on engineering matters for the project.
You will focus on technical matters, quality control and temporary works whilst giving support and guidance to your engineering team.

To ensure that the project's engineering team, roles, skills and behaviour are aligned with the Company's objectives and project requirements;
Manage and provide guidance and support to the Company's project engineering team.
Understand the project programme and be aware of evolving priorities.
Assist the Company's Project Manager with the development of Safe Systems of Work.
Manage and control the temporary works process (TWC role).
Manage and control the quality control process.
Review project documentation i.e., drawings, specifications, and national standards, and manage the technical query process.
Attend and contribute to meetings as required by the project e.g. DABS, daily planning, weekly progress meetings, design review meetings, etc.
Assist with the ordering of materials, plant, and equipment in a timely manner.
Engage with designers, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
To represent the company in a professional manner.
To assist the Project Manager with the production of the Project Quality Plan, Construction Phase Plan, Site Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) as necessary
To remain current and knowledgeable in the Byrne Group SMS and QMS.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred, however technical qualifications and engineering experience would provide an acceptable alternative;
S.M.S.T.S and TWC;
Lifting operations AP qualification would be advantageous;
Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry (groundworks and RC works preferred).
Strong leadership and people management skills;
Dynamic individual with a positive mindset to address challenges in the right way;
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities as well as being able to motivate and inspire the team;
Thorough understanding of Health and Safety regulations with the ability to manage and mitigate risk;
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively with influence;
Sound knowledge of construction regulations and best practices;
Commercially aware;
Proficient in setting out;
Proficiency in computer software applications and document control systems.
