    Features Editor (Advanced Content) - Mirror - Maternity Cover

      • We are looking for an experienced Features Editor (Advanced Content) to join the Mirror team on an initial nine month fixed term contract basis . You will oversee all Advanced Content within the Features department, curating content that resonates with all our audiences across Print and Digital.

      This is an exciting opportunity to generate, plan, commission, write and desk edit entertaining features on a daily basis ensuring we have high-quality content including but not limited to health, fitness, food, shopping and lifestyle.

      We're looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

      This is a maternity cover fixed term contract role, initially for nine months looking to start as soon as possible.

      This role can be fully remote or hybrid, linked to any of our UK hubs. We are therefore open to candidates from anywhere within the UK.

      What will the role involve?

      You will generate, commission, create and desk-edit strong Advanced Content and Lifestyle features that will appeal to both Print and Digital readers. You will come up with innovative, creative ideas and concepts for interviews and features suitable for Print on a daily basis. Reporting to the Head of Features, you will choose the best way to use Print content Digitally, uploading content to the Mirror's website.

      You will liaise with PRs, agents and publishers regarding exclusive opportunities and ensure all content is produced in line with SEO. This role operates on a Monday to Friday basis.

      Who are we looking for?

      You are an exceptional qualified journalist and editor with a proven track record of overseeing and editing Features content in a fast paced national news room environment. You have experience curating, writing and editing advanced content and significant experience at a senior level on a Features or Lifestyle desk.

      You have outstanding contacts within the Features and Lifestyle industry and can utilise your network to generate engaging content for our print and digital platforms. You are passionate about all things Lifestyle and have superb planning and organisation skills ensuring you meet your deadlines with ease.
