    Description

    ICR are seeking a highly skilled and motivated NDT Inspection Engineer to join their team and support their efforts in conducting composite inspection, training and auditing inspectors, managing competency programs, and contributing to research and development activities.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, effectiveness, and compliance of our INSONO Technology. This will be an office-based role at their Aberdeen headquarters.


    This role will require some field work including offshore and international travel and will report to the Director, Composite Repairs.


    The main tasks include, but are not limited to:nNon-Destructive TestingnPerform INSONO composite inspections to assess the integrity of composite repairs to pressure systems and structures in accordance with ISO 17020:2012.nConduct testing on test specimens, components, and in-service wraps to detect and characterise defects, anomalies, and damage.nIssue, review, and approval of inspection and NDT reports, checking for accuracy and quality of submitted reports prior to issue to clients.nEnsure all work is carried out in line with ICR engineering processes & procedures.nSupport the business with accreditation and verification from third-party institutions.

    Research and Development (R&D)nSupport in the continued development and validation of INSONO for inspection of composite materials.nParticipate in research projects, experiments, and trials to evaluate the effectiveness, reliability, and practical applicability of INSONO.nContribute to the continuous improvement of INSONO through innovation and experimentation.

    Training and AuditingnDeliver training programs to inspectors to ensure proficiency in INSONO composite inspection, equipment operation, and data interpretation.nConduct audits and assessments of inspectors to verify competency, adherence to standards, and compliance with procedures.nProvide coaching, feedback, and support to junior inspectors to facilitate continuous improvement and professional development.

    Competency ManagementnEstablish and maintain competency management systems for INSONO Inspectors, including competency assessments and performance evaluations.nMonitor and track the competency of inspectors to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and company procedures.


    Key responsibilities :

    nPerforming INSONO composite inspection to assess the integrity of composite repairs to pressure systems and structures.nDelivering training programs to trainee inspectors and conducting audits to ensure competency and compliance.nEstablishing and maintaining competency management systems for NDT personnel.

    nCollaborating with the R&D team to support the development of INSONO inspections

    Key Skills, Attributes and Experience:

    nMinimum ONC/NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering or Science related subject.nMinimum 5 years experience in an engineering discipline or inspection environment, of which at least one year spent working an inspection of pressure systems.nAuthorised as a UKAS RG2 Category 3 Inspection Engineer.nExcellent reporting skills with good commercial awareness.nGood communication and IT skills.nSuitable knowledge and understanding of ISO /IEC 17020:2012nIssuing and approving inspection reportsnTraining, authorising, and monitoring of ICR inspectorsnDeveloping and advancing the inspection technique through continuous improvement.
