    We are looking for a substantive Consultant Radiologist to join a friendly and cohesive team of radiologists with diverse expertise in a busy department and a strong record in teaching, mentoring and training. The applicant would be expected to join the existing radiologists in providing a comprehensive cross-sectional and diagnostic radiology service including a rostered night-time on-call service to address current department shortages

    Barts Health NHS Trust is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospital trusts in Britain as well as being the home of London's Air Ambulance Service. The Trust incorporates St Bartholomew's Hospital, The Royal London and Mile End Hospitals, Newham University Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospital.

    This post is for a general Consultant Radiologist with particular sub-speciality interest in musculoskeletal radiology, at Barts Health NHS Trust. A further subspecialty interest is encouraged & advantageous, as described within the person specification. The post will be primarily based at Whipps Cross University Hospital though cross-site working can be arranged.

    Main duties of the job

    This post is for a general Consultant Radiologist with particular sub-speciality interest in musculoskeletal radiology, at Barts Health NHS Trust. A further subspecialty interest is encouraged & advantageous, as described within the person specification. The post will be primarily based at Whipps Cross University Hospital though cross-site working can be arranged.

    The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent general radiology skills including US, CT, plain film reporting, fluoroscopy, and MRI, as well as having a subspecialty interest as above. Applicants must be GMC registered, with CCT in radiology (or within 6 months at time of interview) . There will be an on-call commitment - currently 1:16 (with scans performed between 8:30pm - 8:30am outsourced).

    Research and teaching activities are encouraged and supported by the active academic department and there is a highly successful training programme with registrars.
