    The Trust is looking for a transformational, highly experienced people professional to support the Chief People Officer in delivering the Trust's 5-year People Plan.

    This is a newly created post demonstrating the Trust's commitment to making the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust the best place to work where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work.

    The Deputy Chief People Officer will have operational leadership responsibility for the portfolio as we embark on an ambitious programme of work to transform the service and deliver the NHS People Promise across our brilliant organisation.

    Main duties of the job Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Deputy Chief People Officer will play a key role in delivering and achieving the Trust's 5-year People Plan and supporting the delivery of the Trusts strategic priorities. The Deputy Chief People Officer will have wide ranging and extensive portfolio including strategy, policy and major change programmes.

    The Deputy Chief People Officer will be a custodian of the Trust values and behaviours and support the Chief People Officer in their responsibilities covering all aspects of people management, leadership and OD, inclusion and education and training. The post holder will work closely with the Chief People Officer to provide and efficient and customer focussed service to the Trust where innovation, best practice and quality are at the heart of delivery. The post holder will also lead initiatives to develop high levels of workforce engagement and performance to support delivery of the Trust's strategic and performance goals and its improvement priorities. The post holder will lead the workforce and OD teams in addition to developing the strategic workforce planning capability within the directorate.

    The post holder will also participate and lead on key ICS and National People Plan initiatives/programmes and workstreams About us The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest specialist orthopaedic units in Europe.     • Masters level qualification in Human Resources/OD or similar, or equivalent knowledge and experience gained through significant experience in senior posts
    • Chartered Member of Chartered institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD)
    • Extensive experience working at a senior level across a range of HR and OD functions is a large complex organisation
