    Description
    An unparalleled opportunity awaits for a well-rounded Financial Controller to join a diverse organisation, based in Birmingham City Centre, at the forefront of retail, care and real estate. This pivotal role requires an individual who can spearhead financial strategies with precision and innovation. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in shaping the financial landscape and driving business success.

    Reporting directly to the MD and FD, the role involves:

    • Lead the production of group consolidation, serving as the primary point of contact for the accounts assistant, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment.

    • Take ownership of crafting the monthly group management pack, providing timely and insightful reports to senior stakeholders, thus influencing strategic decisions.

    • Drive the enhancement of internal controls, conducting rigorous reviews to optimise processes and mitigate risks effectively.

    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to identify areas for improvement, implementing robust solutions to elevate financial practices.

    • Evaluate and streamline existing accounting processes, championing efficiency and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

    • Oversee year-end and statutory accounting processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency throughout the audit process.

    • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures documentation to uphold standards of excellence.

    • Manage and mentor the team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control functions, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.

    • Play a pivotal role in business planning, forecasting, and monthly reporting, providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

    • Lead specific finance projects, acting as a key liaison between finance and other business units, driving cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
