    Description
    Steamship Mutual is a P&I insurance company, with 210 employees worldwide. The main office is based near Liverpool Street station, London. Responsibility to provide P&I claims handling service and advice to the Club's cruise and ferry membership.

    The role is based within the Americas Syndicate with a dedicated team that looks after the Club's passenger ship Members based in North America and Europe with ships trading worldwide.

    To handle assigned claims in accordance with company procedures, provide advice on claims related issues and identify the need for loss prevention activity.

    Working with a high degree of independence, taking ownership and responsibility for your caseload, but seeking advice and supportive guidance from your Claims Manager or Claims Directors as appropriate.

    To promote the relationship between the Club and existing Members for which the claims team is responsible.

    To ensure that all electronic correspondence, whether received or sent, relating to claim files assigned to the particular individual is promptly and correctly filed in accordance with the agreed working practices and to maintain and keep updated such e:files.

    To delegate appropriate work and assist in the development of the capabilities of Claims Executives and Assistants to maximise their potential.

    To contribute to the continuous development of company procedures and systems.
    To produce relevant articles for inclusion in Club publications.
    To attend appropriate training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
    To perform any other ad hoc duties as required.

    Previous experience handling personal injury cases including passengers and crew, from either another P&I club, insurer, law firm, ship owner or ship agent.

    Ability to deliver high quality work within agreed timeframes to and prioritise individual workload.
