    Job Title: IT Network Team Lead at Whittington Health Integrated Care Organisation

    We are in search of an expert to take charge of our IT Network team at Whittington Health Integrated Care Organisation. As the team leader, you will oversee the management of our team to ensure the delivery of a secure and reliable IT network infrastructure for the Trust, while also handling crucial relationships with key staff and suppliers.

    About the Company: Whittington Health is an Integrated Care Organisation, comprising an Acute Hospital and Community Services spread across various sites in North Central London. The IT service is managed internally, and the network team is an integral part of a well-established Technical Service team within the Information Management and Technology Department.

    Main Job Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for designing, planning, configuring, deploying, maintaining, and operating an enterprise network infrastructure for Whittington Health NHS Trust.
    • Lead the Network team (currently consisting of a manager plus 2 staff members).
    • Develop strong relationships with Trust management and emergency planning staff.
    • Manage 3rd line suppliers and contracts.
    • Oversee service development and planning.
    • Demonstrate expertise in key technologies including Cisco Wired and wireless networks, Extreme wired, Checkpoint firewalls, and Citrix.
    • Provide leadership in selecting hardware and software purchases aligned with the Trust's IT Strategy and NHS technology guidelines.
    • Lead Network and related projects as needed by the Trust.
    • Address complex and critical Network issues.
    • Offer expert technical guidance to the Network team and IM&T service desk staff.
    • Act as a repository of technical and user documentation.
    • Participate in on-call duties for major issues outside regular hours.

    Person Specification:

    Education / Qualifications

    Essential

    • Experience and knowledge equivalent to a degree, coupled with experience.
    • IT Degree + 2 years of experience.
    • Cisco CCNP certification.

    Desirable

    • Prince Project Management.

    • Able to cultivate highly effective relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Confident communicator (written and verbal) with the capacity to clarify critical issues and influence peers and staff at all levels, embracing diverse perspectives.
    • Skilled at conveying technical information in layman's terms and user-friendly language.

    Knowledge & Experience

    Essential

    • Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure.
    • Extensive knowledge of Network products and services including Cisco/Extreme Wired, Cisco Wireless, Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco Duo, and Citrix.
    • 5 years of technical enterprise network management experience.

    Personal Qualities

    Essential

    • Proficient at seeing tasks through to completion.
    • Tactful and diplomatic in interactions.
