- To ensure the SRP meets the statutory requirements of the SEN Code of Practice
- Have a secure understanding of the Autistic Spectrum, including related behaviours and de-escalation strategies
- Ensure that the curriculum is in line with pupils' needs as set out in their Education, Health and Care Plan
- To effectively tailor learning to take account of each pupil's needs and learning styles
- To model high quality interactions with pupils
- To promote positive values and attitudes
- To communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues
- To actively promote positive links and understanding between pupils within mainstream classes and the SRP
- To be able to effectively write, review and carry out personalised education plans, including any associated risk assessments
- To direct and supervise support staff
- To make effective use of data to monitor and evaluate pupil progress across the curriculum in order to inform teaching and learning planning
- To make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Class Teacher to lead The Nest; our Specialist Resource Provision. Our SRP opens in September 2024 supporting eight pupils who have an Education Health and Care Plan with the primary need identified as Autism. We need you to be a highly effective teacher, with a passion for SEND to meet the diverse needs of our pupils. You will work closely with our SENDCO and other support staff within The Nest.
