    Role: Legal Secretary

    Location: Dartford or Maidstone (office-based)

    Salary: £24,000 - £26,000

    Term: Permanent

    Working hours: Full-time

    Our client, a prominent law firm in Dartford, is in search of a Legal Secretary. This role primarily involves audio typing, supporting all fee earners and other support staff, including paralegals. The responsibilities are less demanding compared to traditional legal secretarial roles, focusing mainly on telephone handling, administrative tasks, and collaborative teamwork with colleagues.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform administrative functions such as managing logistics
    • Act as the first point of contact/representative for clients
    • Conduct audio typing from digital dictation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to in-house style before sending
    • Respond to clients professionally, either in person or by telephone, providing updates on file status
    • Manage diaries, scheduling appointments, arranging meetings, and updating fee earners daily
    • Assist with file and case management, as well as bill preparation
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of clients, their matters, and general work within the firm

    Qualifications:

    • Previous secretarial experience in residential conveyancing
    • Audio typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
    • Strong telephone manner and customer service skills
    • Excellent organisational abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
