    Job summary

    Are you passionate about Improvement? If so, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Improvement and Delivery Team to support our clinical and non-clinical operational teams to deliver Trust Vision of Exceptional People, Outstanding Care cost improvement efficiency programme. If you have experience in delivery cost improvement projects and want to share your project management knowledge. We would accept applications from both clinical and non-clinical applicants.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will work with their partnered areas and facilitate the systematic identification of cost improvement initiatives, working with colleagues adhere to the project management gateways and support delivery of the cost improvements initiatives on short, rapid cycles of sustained change and maintaining a focus to ensure embedding of the management system in all wards and departments.

    Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

    The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

    The Trust's core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.

    We employ more than 7,000 full and part-time staff in a huge range of clinical and non-clinical roles across both of our hospital sites.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • PRINCE 2 or equivalent qualification and/or equivalent experience.
  • Masters Qualification in business, finance or engineering or equivalent level of experience
  • Desirable

  • MBA
  • Experience/ Knowledge

    Essential

  • Significant experience of managing project teams in the successful delivery of cost, efficiency and productivity improvement projects.
  • In depth knowledge of processes and of project management methodologies and techniques.
  • Ability to present and discuss complex financial, operational and similar project information.
  • Highly effective leadership, people management and project management skills.
  • Excellent IT skills including use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project.
  • Significant experience of successful project management of complex projects
  • Desirable

  • Experience of leading projects throughout the lifecycle in any industry.
  • Experience of applying project methods within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring individuals.
  • Working in a Business Partnering role
  • Skills

    Essential

  • Benefit tracking as part of the project including any financials.
  • Ability to understand how systemic structures contribute to customer performance.
  • Ability to manage cross functional stakeholders at all levels.
  • Intermediate Excel skills and experience of using another MS Office software Visio, PowerPoint.
