    The Role

    Working as part of the Veterinary Nursing Team at Bristol Veterinary School, the role holder will assist with the internal quality assurance processes linked to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Veterinary Nursing Day One Skills. This includes monitoring competence decisions made by Clinical Supervisors and ensuring external auditing requirements of the RCVS are met. The post holder will oversee the allocation and monitoring of Veterinary Nursing external clinical placements within RCVS training practices.

    • Coordinate the placement allocations for students in RCVS training practices.
    • Assist with student recruitment events such as Post-Offer Visit Days and Open Days.
    • Monitor the progress of veterinary nursing students during clinical placements through phone calls and visits, supporting their learning and practical achievements.
    • Set up and examine Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) for the veterinary nursing students.
    • Contribute to and assist with the standardisation meetings for training involved parties.
    • Organise and prioritize work activities to deliver tight deadlines on a weekly basis.
    • Coordinate internal quality assurance communications efficiently.
    • Assist in developing and delivering teaching sessions that support student progression and clinical placements.
    • Support students as a personal and clinical tutor.
    • Update the IQA process to comply with RCVS requirements.
    • Carry out Training Practice (TP) visits and monitoring for allocated TP's.
    • Communicate with the VN placements team for teamwork updates.

    You Should Apply If

    You are a registered veterinary nurse, experienced in supporting student veterinary nurse training as a clinical supervisor with knowledge of the RCVS Day One Skills. You need excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and manage your workload. With effective interpersonal skills, you can communicate with colleagues in a collegial culture.
