- Bsc in an Engineering Discipline (preferred)
- Recognised 4 year apprenticeship in an engineering discipline

- Computer literate (Microsoft Office packages, understanding of automated monitoring software advantageous)
- Firm knowledge of CAD and Autodesk products
- Achieve customer quality standards by successful implementation of procedures and standards
- The consistent achievement of quality standards as determined by the customer Adherence improvements and successful implementation of procedures and standards
- Development of the department, including identification of training needs, addressing via on job training or liaison with the company training function
- To undertake liaison with production shift managers both on site and off site where appropriate, to address quality concerns, provide feedback and liaison concerning production schedules and processes/procedures, and to contribute to continuous improvement activity
- Control of department budgets.
- Experience of fast paced, JIT, demanding work environment (high volume tier 1 automotive environment would be advantageous)
- Project managing shutdown/improvement activity experience.
- Excellent organisational & team working / building skills. Ability to delegate effectively & utilise available resources.
- Thorough working knowledge of welding process and technologies (Spot and Mig)
- Thorough understanding of Project Management, & Process Optimisation techniques.
- Familiarity with Robotics.
- Familiarity with Tooling
- Knowledge and experience of implementing modern production techniques.
- Liaison- previous experience of 3 years minimum, proven record of establishing relationships, and maintaining good working relationships, proven ability to influence customers, good level of self- presentation, ability to express ideas articulately, clear presentation of written material, understanding of appropriate customers culture, work processes, style of operation.
- Financial awareness, previous experience of monitoring budgets, understanding of financial implications of decisions.
- To co-ordinate Engineering activities to include Health & Safety,
- Ensure best practice in Health & Safety on all aspects of day-to-day working
- To continually assess ways of ensuring equipment is optimised and specified to minimise the risk of accidents/injuries
- Support the development of the manufacturing engineers with current and new equipment
- Provide systematic approach to problem solving and coordinate activities
- Attend and support actions from problem solving activities, Production and daily management meetings
- To monitor Key Performance Indicators (OEE) on improvement areas & Act accordingly
- Development, installation, commission & validation of new, modified & re-sited equipment & facilities
- Available to support out of normal working hours
- Recommendations on contingency planning to cover the event of equipment failure, including recommended spares
- Deal with customers on a one to one basis with regards to issues and engineering changes.
- Plan and coordinate shutdown activities relating to projects being worked on
- The successful management of the departmental personnel to attain KPI's and customer targets.

Salary: Up to £41,500 per annum
Hours of work: Days: 37 hours per week
Responsible For:
Effectively Manage engineering activities for the plant ensuring the completion of projects/improvements to the highest standard within an extremely tight schedule, by effective planning. To contribute towards improvements in both efficiency and costs. The remit covers all aspects of engineering management - Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People Management and development & Maintenance planning, Liaison with external / internal customers, suppliers and with all other departments within the Company.
