    IT Service Continuity Manager

    Salary: National from £51,200 to £72,000 and London from £56,400 - £78,000

    Are you looking to work in conjunction with Senior Leadership and other key teams / SMEs to develop and support the operational resilience for the FCA organisation?

    The team/department
    You will be part of the IT Service Continuity Management team within Service Operations Technology Resilience that are responsible for all IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) aspects across the service lifecycle focused on both BAU operations and projects.

    What you will be doing (the role)

  • Owning the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) framework, standards, procedures and FCA ITSCM plans, ensuring alignment to the FCA risk appetite, and leading the development of ITSCM plans with Technology Product Groups & 3rd party IT Suppliers
  • Co-ordination and execution of ITSCM testing schedule, updating plans and applying appropriate change control
  • Undertake ITSCM SME escalation for incident resolution within the FCA Crisis and Incident Management Frameworks and executing ITSCM plans when a business disruption, incident or crisis occurs, coordinating with Service Management teams and 3rd party IT Suppliers
  • Providing ITSCM requirements and SME guidance to projects, review business requirements to ensure they meet ITSCM framework, standards and procedures, review high level designs to ensure they incorporate and meet ITSCM Non-Functional Requirements and align to the FCA risk appetite
  • Contributing to the Service Design Package and change releases for all ITSCM elements, coordinating the development of the ITSCM plans; ensuring the ITSCM capability is aligned, and quality assure the completion of ITSCM capability and operational acceptance testing for ITSCM requirements
  • Contributing ITSCM risks and issues to programme/project/operational risk registers and identify mitigating actions. Identifying Technology operational ITSCM risks, owning ITSCM risks on the risk register and providing mitigating actions
  • Maintain ITSCM Management Information including dashboards and other metrics by ensuring assurance plans are regularly updated and maintained
  • What you will get from the role

    Your work will be both varied and challenging. You will have an opportunity to understand, shape, mature and help deliver the FCA's IT Service Continuity Management capability. You will work closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders including Product Groups, 3rd Party Suppliers and senior FCA decision makers.     Due to the nature of this role, occasional out of hours / weekend working may be required to support key service continuity events.

    The skills and experience you will have

    Minimum

    We are a signatory to the Government's Disability Confident scheme. This means that we will offer an interview to disabled candidates entering under the scheme, should they meet the minimum criteria for a role.

  • Experience in an IT Service Continuity role including planning, testing & executing end to end ITSCM recovery plans
  • Experience of ITIL ITSCM and Change frameworks, developing policies/standards and procedures. ITIL V3/V4 certified
  • Understanding of technology architecture and associated resiliency of services including Cloud based technologies
  • Essential criteria

  • Effective communicator and stakeholder that collaborates well. This includes challenging and influencing to determine the accurate impact to the business of service continuity failures and articulating complex technical and business outcomes to senior leadership
  • Able to deliver high quality and realistic end to end ITSCM recovery plans that meet expected business recovery timescales.
  • Effective facilitator who can co-ordinate ITSCM recovery activities across multiple teams and 3rd party vendors during a major incident
  • Substantial experience of leading project managers and business stakeholders through Service Continuity processes, coaching and advising in the benefits and methods of Service Continuity Planning
  • Analytical, able to rationalise data from several sources and create meaningful insights that can be incorporated into the Service Continuity framework. Ability to analyse business impact assessments analysing the impact on business operations and reputation
  • Good commercial awareness including previous experience working with 3rd party Suppliers
  • Experience of providing ITSCM services during major incidents including cyber related activities
  • Experience of ITSCM services where cloud technologies are used
