Description
A reputable University based in the South East of England is recruiting an interim Director of Governance and Assurance.As part of the University's Senior Management team the post holder will have oversight of the governance structure of the university, ensuring that processes act within the law, sector guidance and good practice, in an ethical manner.
Job responsibilities:
Accountable for the successful delivery, oversight and ongoing review of the University's governance structures, policies, procedures and processesAct as Secretary to Council and attend the Executive Group meetings to ensure good strategic knowledgeMaintain up to date awareness of changes to the policy framework surrounding corporate governanceDevelop and manage the university's risk management frameworkDirect and oversee formal processes and governance committeesProvide policies and procedures and reporting frameworksLine manage six direct reports, providing leadership and developmentCandidate profile:Significant demonstrable experience working in a governance/ company secretary function at board levelProven management experience in a large complex organisationExperience of working in the Higher Education sector and up to date knowledge of University governanceSound knowledge of risk management approachesExcellent oral and written communication skills to be able to deal confidently with a range of individuals at all levelsSalary: £80,000 - £125,000 (commensurate on experience and day rates may also be considered)
Contract type: 6 months, fixed term contractWorking hours: Full-timeLocation: Kent (flexible hybrid working – accommodation can be provided by the organisation)
