Teaching Assistant

Location: Derbyshire, DE7

Days: 5 days, Monday - Friday, Term Time Only

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Daily Rate: £95 - £115

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: Ongoing

A large inclusive Academy are looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced teaching assistant to work with pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 supporting both academic and pastoral needs. The school have a range of pupils that require additional support in order for them to achieve academically. The schools SEN Department are well established and provide comprehensive support for students both inside and outside of the classroom. The school is looking for a candidate with TA experience, SEN support experience and someone who has and strong grasp of supporting students at KS3 and KS4.

Job Role:

Overall purpose of the post is to work with teachers to support teaching and learning. This will be achieved by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff and may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan.

Teaching and Learning Responsibilities:

Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff.
Frequently work with individual pupils with special educational needs and/or with pupils for whom English is not their first language.
Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities to pupils' needs as appropriate.
Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher, relating to the needs of students you are supporting.
Support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils in each group you are supporting.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to attainment and progress under the direction of the teacher.
Assist with the development of individual learning plans for students identified with special educational needs and disabilities.
