- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health needs, including physical health assessments where necessary.
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients to promote recovery and improve mental well-being.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects.
- Monitor and record patients' progress, documenting any changes in their mental or physical health.
- Offer counseling and psychoeducation to patients and their families to enhance understanding and coping strategies.
- Work closely with other members of the healthcare team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress and update care plans accordingly.
- Provide support and guidance to junior staff, including Healthcare Assistants and Student Nurses, as required.
- Adhere to professional standards and ethical codes of conduct, maintaining confidentiality and respect for patients' rights at all times.
- Keep abreast of developments in mental health care practices and participate in continuous professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Registered Nurse qualification (RMN) with current registration with the [Insert relevant regulatory body, e.g., Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)].
- Previous experience working in a mental health setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
