    Fixed Term Consultant in Health Care of Older People - London, United Kingdom - Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust

    Our North London Forensic Service treats and cares for people in the criminal justice system who have mental health conditions.

    You will advise the divisions on social work practice, ensure community transformation is place-based and person-centred, and help integrate mental health services within and across the divisions.

    You will represent the social care directorate in providing all aspects of Social Care within the Partnership's boroughs and divisions, supporting Trust-employed Social Workers, Safeguarding, Carers Support, Social Work Standards, Social Inclusion & Community and Voluntary Sector Partnerships, and Service Transformation.

    This high-profile position requires you to provide technically competent and legally literate advice in complex situations, lead and direct the work of the Partnership's discharge social work staff, provide clinical support where required, and promote integrated working with Local Authority Social Care, Housing directorates, and children's services.

    This is a hybrid and agile-based role working across the Partnership's sites with an expectation to have a physical presence on sites when required.

    Provide professional Social Work leadership on strengths and community asset-based mental health social work and rights-based practice.

    Ensure adherence to social care best practice with social inclusion and recovery at the heart of care offered across Divisions.

    Advise on effective structures for delivering delegated Local Authority statutory responsibilities across divisions.
    Develop innovative and integrated mental health provision across boroughs through promotion of social care values and principles.

    Act as lead social care practitioner across divisions from advising on individual cases to engaging with new and existing delivery improvement programs in Rehabilitation, Recovery, and community transformation.

    The partnership between Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Partnership.

    Heads of Service, and other local authority social care leaders and social workers, Housing and third sector staff

    Work in a highly complex environment across multiple systems, providing visible social work and social care leadership to partners in local authorities.

    Participate in the development, implementation, and review of Section 75 agreements and other partnerships between the Local Authority and the divisions.

    Work with Local Authority partners on robust governance arrangements and quality service standards for the delivery of integrated Mental Health Act assessments and promote effective partnerships with local AMHP services.

    Ensure adherence to Local Authority policies and procedures relevant to the management of staff and resources on behalf of the local Authority.

    . Support the development of excellent working partnerships

    Lead on the transformation of mental health social work, raising the profile, value, and role of the workforce within the delivery of modern integrated mental health care service.

    Provide social work leadership on the development and implementation of social care personalization, strengths & assets-based approaches, trauma-informed care, and rights-based practice within the Divisions.

    Champion the development of clearly specified mental health social care roles within integrated mental health services.

    Lead on the development of systems and practices within the Division to ensure that the social care dimension is a mainstream consideration for all staff working with service users and carers.

    Assist in translating Local Authority social care priorities into Trust service development and business plans.

    Facilitate partnerships with local authorities, service user groups, carer groups, voluntary sector community groups, 3rd sector organizations, and BEH Trust.

    POLICY / SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

    Ensure systems and processes are in place for robust professional supervision, reflective practice, learning, personal and professional development for social workers in the Trust.

    Leverage social care approaches to develop integrated services that support effective recovery and strengths/community asset-based approaches.
    Be a member of various Divisional forums related to governance, service planning, and development.

    Where necessary, help and support will be provided, and development opportunities agreed in line with service provision and knowledge and skills competency framework.

    All staff are responsible for the continual compliance with CQC standards and outcomes.
    The postholder must be aware of, and work in line with, the Trust's Safeguarding Adults and Children procedures.

    Management qualification and/or extensive knowledge and expertise acquired through experience and/or training up to master's level.
    Significant experience of management at a senior level within social care and NHS mental health provision
    Understands business and financial concepts and the importance of developing a performance management culture
    Detailed knowledge of safeguarding children and adults.
    Detailed understanding of the statutory and regulatory frameworks relevant to the delivery of social work and social care.
    Analyses, interprets, and evaluates complex data and draws logical sound conclusions.
    Grasps complex problems and understands immediate and longterm implications of decisions
