Description
Cranleigh STEM has partnered with a specialist environmental services organisation that designs, installs, commissions, and maintains industrial wastewater treatment plants for organisations within several sectors including but not limited to, aerospace, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and chemicals.
We are looking for a hands-on Project Engineer to manage the delivery of industrial wastewater treatment plants from initial design to installation and commissioning.

Role:
Full-time, Permanent
Engage in discussions with clients to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure that the project aligns with their expectations and requirements.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive Gantt chart outlining project timelines, milestones, and dependencies.Regularly update the Gantt chart to reflect progress, delays, and any modifications to the project schedule.
Communicate any deviations from the original timeline to the project team and stakeholders, along with potential solutions or mitigation strategies.
Create a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) for the required project components, specifying technical specifications, quantities, and sourcing details.
Regularly update the BOM to accommodate any changes or revisions during the project lifecycle.Develop comprehensive Functional Design Specifications (FDS) based on project requirements and technical specifications.
Clearly articulate the functionality, performance criteria, and design constraints for various components of the project.
Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to ensure that the Functional Design Specifications align with the overall project goals.
Co-ordinate detailed design (layout, civil engineering guidelines, isometric):Coordinate and oversee the detailed design process, including layout design, adherence to civil engineering guidelines, and the creation of isometric drawings.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure that the detailed designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.Review and approve design documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
Communicate regularly with vendors and suppliers to track order status, resolve any issues, and ensure that deliveries meet project timelines.
Organise site installation team and prepareRAMS:
Assemble and organise the site installation team, ensuring that each member is properly briefed on their roles and responsibilities.
Develop and implement Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) to identify and mitigate potential risks during the site installation phase.
Coordinate with the site team to ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed during installation activities.Organise commissioning and de-snagging of plant:
Plan and coordinate the commissioning process, including the testing and validation of installed equipment and systems.
Collaborate with the commissioning team to ensure a smooth transition from installation to operational phase, meeting project specifications and client expectations.
Process Engineering orChemical Engineering Background:
A successful candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master's in process engineering, chemical engineering or related subject.
An understanding of the principles and practices involved in chemical processes, unit operations, and the design of systems to produce various products.
Ability to Read and Amend P&I (AutoCAD):~ This involves the use of AutoCAD software to interpret and modify these essential engineering documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
The role requires effective organisational skills to manage and coordinate various aspects of the project.
Strong communication skills are essential for conveying ideas, instructions, and project updates to team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
Having a practical mindset means being able to apply theoretical knowledge pragmatically, and making informed decisions that align with project goals and practical constraints.
Computer Literacy:
Being computer literate is a fundamental requirement in today's technological landscape.
Proficient in using various software tools and platforms relevant to the role, such as project management software, simulation tools, and other applications related to process engineering.
Ensure Interface Between Client and Design, Installation, andCommissioning Teams:
The candidate is responsible for bridging the communication gap between the client and the various teams involved in the project lifecycle.
This includes the design, installation, and commissioning teams.Effective communication ensures that client requirements are understood, and the project is executed according to specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
