    We are looking for a Legal Counsel , with a keen interest and passion for Technology combined with a varied commercial contracts background.

    The role enjoys a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and is high profile within the business as your key stakeholders include, CEO and CFO, Global SVP of Sales, Director of Client Services, Head of Product, and other members of the Senior Management Team on an ad hoc basis to support review and negotiation of new Supplier Agreements.

    As Legal Counsel, you will be key in supporting the Global Commercial team with the support of the CEO and CFO with a variety of contractual arrangements covering Eckoh's Product Suite and for new business, renewals, and extension of services to existing clients as well as being the Business Champion for Data Protection and particularly understanding the use of AI and providing legal advice to the business.

    Responsible for reviewing and preparing a variety of contracts including master contract templates, SaaS agreements, service agreements, reseller agreements and referral agreements for the Commercial teams to use in both the UK and US.


    • Support the Sales team and Client Services team, on all new and existing clients and partnership deals for the purposes of negotiating, preparing and reviewing the appropriate legal documentation.
    • Supporting the Commercial teams with negotiating and drafting bespoke contractual terms for new clients and renewals. For high value or complex contracts, if required, our external Legal Counsel in the US or UK can be drawn on to assist in contract reviews.
    • Working closely with the Commercial and Product teams to understand the Product Portfolio and identify any changes required to the master contract templates and identify areas of risk to the business.
    • Pro-actively make recommendations and advise Senior Management of risks identified through changes in the law or changes in regulatory requirements to mitigate risk.
    • Responsible for supporting the business with applicable Data Protection law compliance whilst ensuring our templates and client contracts remain up to date.
    • Providing advice and support in respect of all intellectual property matters with the implementation of existing and new products and technology developed.
    • Assisting with RFP and public tender processes which may include contract reviews, preparation and review of responses etc.
    • Supporting the commercial teams and wider business in legal discussions with customers, partners, and suppliers, as required.
    • Providing both legal and practical advice in the event of a commercial dispute to Senior Management.
    Providing regular training on legal matters for the Commercial team.

    • Ensuring Senior Management are kept up to date on any relevant changes to the law.

    UK qualified commercial lawyer with training in a reputable firm or in-house legal function, with 1-5 years PQE (as a guide), experienced in drafting and negotiating varied commercial contracts in a fast-moving environment.

    A problem-solving approach is required to identify changes in the business which will require updates to contracts and to manage and educate stakeholders at all levels of the organization of points of law.

    A passion for Technology, having the self-starting attitude to work closely with the product and development teams, to ensure our Commercial contracts remain relevant with product updates, have a self-motivated and proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

    PC literate, with a good working knowledge of MS Windows, Word, Excel, DocuSign and Outlook.
