    We are looking for a Lead Nurse - Outpatients to join the team at our clinic based in Reading covering Urology and ENT.

    As the Lead Outpatients Nurse, you are responsible for the provision of high-quality evidence-based nursing care in a clinic setting with a focus upon the implementation of smooth and efficient outpatient and diagnostic urology clinics. In addition to the clinical aspects of the service, the role holder will also need to have an understanding of, and be able to assist in, the areas of finance, equipment, IT and consultant liaison as required.

    Hours : Full time, permanent

    Please note: We're also able to consider part time applicants covering either Urology or ENT.

    What you'll do :

    Key areas for the role:

  • Be a clinical expert and lead by example, acting as a role model at all times and adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Lead the urology & ENT outpatient service providing day-to-day management of the department ensuring that all staff who work within the service have the competence, training and skill set to adequately carry out the roles required of them and highlight training gaps and needs
  • Your key responsibilities:

    Clinical Practice

  • Coordination with administrative colleagues in order to ensure that all pathways are sensitive to their requirements, achieved through proactively seek their involvement and contribution.
  • Work cohesively with all team members to ensure that the very best services to patients are provided at all times throughout the patient's journey
  • Be a flexible individual with the ability to adapt to changes in service provision/delivery
  • Be proactive and take ownership of the outpatient urology & ENT services to ensure a positive experience for all patients and consultants
  • Ensure all care is delivered to the highest standards in accordance with recognised local and national policies and guidelines
  • Education and Research

  • Maintain personal CPD in line with the annual personal development programme
  • Ensure all mandatory training is completed within the required timeframe
  • Promote a culture of learning and continuous quality improvement within the department
  • Ensure all patients are fully informed of the risks and benefits of proposed procedures
  • Produce and provide all patients with relevant and accessible written information regarding their procedures in line with their needs
  • General

  • Ensure that patients experience the highest level of service, in line with Genesis Care policies and procedures
  • Be aware of the close working relationship with partnership hospitals and third parties (where relevant) and the requirement to comply with their company local rules and policies
  • Carry out any other duties commensurate with the level of the job role
  • Actively follow all Genesis Care policies and procedures
  • Adhere to the company Uniform Policy at all times whilst on company and third-party premises
  • What you'll have:

    Experience and skills:

  • Experience working within the speciality of urology and/or ENT
  • Experience of assisting with urology and/or ENT procedures
  • Previous experience of working within an outpatient setting
  • Good communication skills
  • Venepuncture & cannulation skills
  • Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Registered Nurse with NMC registration
  • Relevant post registration programme qualification
