    Description

    At Universal Quantum we aim to make the world a better place by developing new computer technology. Together, we are creating truly impactful quantum computers. Our machines will be capable of solving problems until now considered impossible, with applications ranging across a broad range of industries including healthcare, materials and aerospace. We are looking to hire a digital design engineer, to work with the system lead on digital FPGA (or ASIC) designs. Passionate about helping create technologies which can change the world?     What You'll Accomplish:

    • Design blocks/sub-systems/FPGAs at RTL level from high-level requirements provided by the system lead
    • Take ownership of block/sub-systems/system level specifications and architecture, design and implementation
    • Generate comprehensive documentation required for design and verification
    • Perform FPGA top-level/sub-system level verification
    • Participate in design reviews involving a larger cross-functional team

    Requirements

    The 3 Most Critical Attributes We'll Use to Compare Candidates :

    1. Experience in complex block/sub-system RTL design (Verilog/VHDL)
    2. Ability to take full ownership of sub-system/FPGA development and contribute to the definition of the architecture
    3. Ability to work independently (individual contributor/sub-system lead) and work collaboratively across a multi-functional team

    Must-have Skills:

    • 8+ years of digital RTL design and verification experience
    • Competency in scripting languages Python/Tcl/shell
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrate a strong discipline for thorough documentation
    • Ability to work autonomously, setting priorities & delivering to schedule
    • Degree or equivalent - Electronics / Computer Science or a related discipline

    Nice-to-have Skills :

    • Previous experience of both FPGA and ASIC design flows
    • System-level design/architecture experience
    • Experience with DSP tools
    • Background or understanding in Physics, including quantum technologies
