This Academy, while maintaining confidentiality regarding its specific location to preserve the privacy and security of its staff and students, is renowned within the educational community for its innovative approaches and exceptional student support services.
Job title: SEN Teacher in a leading role
Salary: UPS (possible TLR/SENCo Allowance, dependent on experience and qualifications)
Area: Cambridge
Hours: Full-time but job share would be considered
Contract type: Permanent, Summer term
Reporting to: SENCo
Responsibilities:
*Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students.
*Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to promote inclusive learning and maximize student engagement.
*Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods as necessary.
*Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and professionals within the Academy to enhance multidisciplinary approaches to learning.
*Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, contributing valuable insights into the educational strategies best suited for each student.
*Maintain a safe, nurturing classroom environment conducive to learning.
*Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and caregivers, ensuring they are informed of their child's progress and engaged in their learning journey.
Requirements:
*Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
*UK Qualified Teaching Status.
*Proven UK experience in teaching students with special educational needs, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
*Demonstrated understanding of the various types of learning disabilities and the corresponding educational strategies.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Strong organizational and planning skills.
*A committed team player with a proven ability to work collaboratively.
*Empathy, patience, and resilience.
