Birmingham

My client is a precision manufacturing business based in Birmingham, specializing in machining and assembly of high-value low-volume components.

The Management Accountant role reports to the Financial Controller and requires a full understanding of management/financial accounts, year-end processes, accounting standards, and internal controls and processes.

As a key member of the Finance team, you will assist in the timely and accurate preparation and production of all financial reports for the business and Group reporting.

You must be a part or fully qualified accountant with demonstrable hands-on accounts experience. Excellent analytical skills are a must to prepare management information for both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description:

Preparation of monthly management accounts and detailed financial forecasts for Group submission
Support the development of forecasting processes
Manage inventory controls and support inventory counts process
Review and analyze project margins
Produce challenging financial analysis and support
Improve accounting activities and controls
Prepare cost of sales analysis
Design accounting system reports and processes
Support junior team members
Liaise with external audit teams

Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills:

Qualified or part qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
Strong understanding of financial accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS)
Proactive and able to identify opportunities for process improvements
Ability to interpret and challenge large volumes of data
Experience in a global manufacturing business
