Murphy is currently recruiting for an Environmental Manager to join our award-winning Energy team on the SSE ASTI Framework in Scotland covering Power, Transmission & Distribution projects such as Substations & Overhead Lines.
The Environmental Manager will manage the Environmental & Sustainability on the project, ensuring all are provided with leadership & support whilst providing support and information to the wider function.
Following the 'One Murphy' approach, we're able to deliver all aspects of the projects we work on.Murphy & Sons has designed, constructed, and commissioned projects for clients such as National Grid, SSE and Ørsted, on both transmission and distribution networks within the Energy sector.
Establish and provide Leadership in best practice in environmental and sustainability matters in conjunction with the SHESQ function.Take a lead with site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the environmental and sustainability plans.
Lead, partake and oversee accident / incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
Manage, collate & review environmental and sustainability statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.Develop and implement environmental and sustainability campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the Operations Director / SHES Director.
Manage and where required be involved in the preparation & review of environmental and sustainability documents including those of 3rd parties.
Manage and produce environmental and sustainability plans, procedures and associated documentation and check compliance.Identify significant environmental and sustainability issues and help set-up contracts / yards to include appropriate controls.
Manage and Identify any environmental and sustainability consents / permits or exemptions that are required and ensure they are obtained.
Providing input and review of pre-qualification, tender and environmental and sustainability award submissions.Understanding of practical environmental risk mitigation on significant construction projects such as Waste management, Water management and pollution prevention, Statutory nuisance, Contaminated land, Ecological mitigation, Consents, licencing and DCO experience and Biodiversity Net Gain.
Environmental training and developmentSolid Understanding of Net Zero principles.
