    Description

    An international law firm are looking for an Employment Associate with between 3 and 6 Years' PQE to help launch its new Employment Law offering in Birmingham.

    This is a new team launch and will allow you to get in at the start of something special, at a firm with incredibly ambitious plans for the future, and with a clear path to Partnership (for those who want it).

    Employment is a key strategic focus for this Firm.

    This is a fully flexible role – you will be required to attend at the Birmingham office when business needs dictate, but the majority of the time you will have the freedom to work remotely or from any of this Firm's national offices.

    All whilst being part of a Tier 1 ranked national employment practice.

    This role will also allow for supervision and development of junior members of staff, making it the perfect first foray into management as you bolster your credentials for moving into senior roles.

    This Firm are an international firm which embraces flexible working with no chargeable hours targets – a rarity in today's market.


    The Role

    This will be a broad employment role spanning contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

    As part of this new team launch you will support the Partner build out a best-in-class employment offering in Birmingham, whilst also working alongside this Tier 1 employment team nationwide.

    Mandates will include business reorganisations and redundancies, tactical advice on sensitive/ reputational issues, practical support on business as usual issues such as grievance, boardroom support on reputational or corporate governance issues, employment tribunal representation, internal investigations, advice on employee consultation and engagement, business immigration, employment law training and specialist expertise on TUPE and outsourcing.


    Candidate Required

    An employment solicitor admitted in any UK jurisdiction with 3 Years'+ PQE in either contentious or advisory employment work.

    Whilst the role will have a weighting towards contentious employment matters, this Firm are keen to hear from those currently with an exclusively advisory practice who are keen to get more exposure (and be upskilled in) contentious employment work.
