    Solicitor / Senior Solicitor (1- 3 years PQE) - Family

    One of the UK's largest family law teams which is top ranked by Chambers and Legal 500 has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Family lawyer to join their Edinburgh team.

    We are looking for a candidate with experience of practising the full range of family matters, including financial provision and child law.

    Coming from a family law background, you will share your expertise with colleagues and support junior members of the team.

    The successful candidate will be a focussed, ambitious and self-motivated lawyer who will be expected to work with their own case load with assistance in doing so and will also work collaboratively with the other members of the team in a variety of cases involving the whole spectrum of family law.

    We attract a diverse range of family law work from complex high value divorce cases to advising those of modest wealth in a cost-effective way.

    Regardless of the individual we are acting for, we provide our clients with excellent client care with a solution- orientated approach.

    We are looking for a candidate who takes a human approach to looking after our family law clients by providing them with a clear direction and sound advice.

    Providing solution-orientated advice to clients on financial provision upon separation and divorce would be the main focus of your practice.

    Acting for clients in child related matters including residence and contact disputes.

    Experience in child relocation cases, international child abduction adoption, surrogacy, and cross border cases would be desirable, but not required.

    Drafting financial settlement agreements, pre and post nuptial and cohabitation agreements and providing clear advice on the legal implications of those documents.

    When the need arises, drafting pleadings and conducting advocacy in Sheriff Court litigation. Experience of instructing and working alongside counsel in Court of Session litigation would be helpful but is not required.
    Regular blogging for the team website, working on legal updates for the team and producing social media content.

    Being aware of Brodies' information security policies, and protect information from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times.

    1-3 years plus PQE in family law is essential.
