    Special Needs Teacher - United Kingdom - Folkestonegirls

    Are you the very special teacher our pupils need?

    Our children need a hard working, caring, positive and motivated professional who will ideally have experience of working with children with autism and associated social and communication difficulties and severe learning difficulties.

    We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher, starting in September 2024. You will nurture, teach and inspire a small group of autistic pupils .Experience of working within a specialist provision will be an advantage but mainstream colleagues are extremely welcome to apply, we are looking for the right personal attributes we can help you with the rest. You will need to be calm, flexible, resilient and most of all loving. The successful candidate will either be an experienced and successful SEN teacher who wants to develop their career, If you are a mainstream teacher who ihas a desire and passion to move to special needs teaching either full time or part time please get in touch, come and have a look around at our wonderful school.

    Ideal candidates will:

    • hold a recognised teaching qualification
    • be resilient, kind, patient and have a good sense of humour
    • have experience of teaching pupils with special educational needs in either a mainstream or specialist setting
    • be flexible and keen to learn (growth mindset)
    • be able to differentiate their approach for pupils with a range of abilities
    • have excellent interpersonal skills with students, parents, professionals and other adults
    • be an effective team player with proven ability to coordinate and direct the work of classroom support staff
    • be passionate about making every day count - our pupils deserve the best childhood

We offer an Induction programme and support for all new staff and you will have experienced colleagues to learn from and with.Due to expansion and some teachers reducing hours we have both permanent and fixed term positions F/T and P/T available.
