    Cover Supervisor

    Working Time:
    Term Time – (Tue–Thu) – (Mon)32 hours per week (including Inset Days)

    Grade:
    Scale 4 point 9 – 17

    Line Manager:

    Assistant Head The post holder is required to support the school's Christian ethos and its objectives, policies and procedures as detailed in the current Staff Handbook and Policy File.

    Main purpose of the role

    • To supervise whole classes undertaking pre-prepared activities provided by a teacher during the short-term absence of a classroom teacher.
    • The primary focus is to maintain order and to keep pupils on task.
    To work with individuals and small groups to support learning across the school Core responsibilities and tasksKey duties:

    • Supervise pre-prepared activities and self-directed learning in the short-term planned / unplanned absence of teachers to provide continuity of learning for pupils
    • Prepare the classroom/outside areas for lessons, ensuring that resources are available and cleared away at the end of the lessons as appropriate
    • Register pupils on Arbor in a timely manner
    • Following the school behaviour policy, manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking work
    • Collect any completed work after the lesson and return it to the appropriate teacher along with feedback from the lesson
    • Report back as appropriate using agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.
    • To work with individuals and small groups to support learning across the curriculum, directed by the teacher
    • Undertake the duties of a Teaching Assistant when not required to provide cover
    • Undertaken other duties as and when required
    • Assist in extra-curricular clubs
    • Supervise pupils on educational and out of school activities
    • Undertake exam invigilation.
