Description

A market leading sales business are looking to add a Payroll Specialist to their team on an initial 12 month contract. The role will be fore mostly a Maternity cover contract but the successful candidate may have scope to join the City of Preston based team permanent due to department growth.

As the Payroll Specialist, you will be working in a close-knit team reporting into an incredibly supportive and experienced Payroll Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end payroll process on a monthly basis.
Gather relevant information and input it into the payroll system.
Manually verify statutory calculations and make necessary adjustments.
Handle tax code changes.
Generate absence and sickness reports, ensuring they are accurately processed through payroll.
Calculate starter and leaver payments, including P45 forms.
Perform pension calculations and update the payroll system accordingly.
Address payroll-related queries from colleagues, managers, and external parties.
Submit monthly Real Time Information (RTI) Full Payment Submissions (FPS) and Employer Payment Summaries (EPS) to HMRC.
Prepare reports, maintain spreadsheets, and reconcile payrolls.
Provide data to the accounts team for reconciliation purposes.
Administer P11d forms and submit them annually to HMRC.
Conduct end-of-year processing, including issuing P60 forms.
Report any anomalies or concerns to the Payroll Manager

To be considered for this position you must have...

Circa 12 months experience in a Payroll position
A keen eye for detail
Excellent organisational and time keeping skills
Strong excel skills
