TheseSpecialist Clinical Pharmacists will work within our Integrated MedicinesManagement (IMM) service.The Pharmacy Service operates a seven-day clinicalservice and benefits from full electronic prescribing, electronic decisionsupport and care planning and automated dispensaries.
This Post is a progression Postwith you initially working as a Clinical Pharmacist (Band 6) todeliver clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical services to wards and departmentsof STSFT.You will be provided with the support and clinicalsupervision required to transition from a Band 6 to a Band 7 SpecialistClinical Pharmacist.
This will include a 12-18 month period of support duringwhich time you will undertake a structured programme which uponcompletion will demonstrate achievement of the clinical skills, knowledge andcompetency required to work autonomously as a Band 7 Specialist ClinicalPharmacist.
Progression to the Band 7 Specialist Clinical Pharmacist Post isdependent onspecific elements being successfully achieved.Uponsuccessful completion of these elements you will automatically moveto the role of Band 7 Specialist Clinical Pharmacist.
You will be a registered pharmacist with post-registrationexperience in clinical services, excellent team-working skills and be currentlyparticipating in our Band 6 rotational programme.
On Appointment you will continue to support the IMM clinical teamsto develop your specialist clinical practice, deliver Integrated MedicinesManagement at the bedside and contribute to the ongoing training andsupervision of pharmacy staff and students.
You will spend over 95% of yourtime on direct patient care which will include clinical experience in admissionand discharge management, board rounds and supervising and training staffincluding trainee pharmacist mentoring.
On Appointment to the Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist role, you willsupport the Directorate Lead Pharmacist(s) for your team in delivering andmanaging the IMM service in the Divisions of Medicine, Emergency Care, Surgeryor Family Care.
